MEANING IN THE WEAVE
In hill tribe weaving tradition, stripe motifs are symbols for RAINBOWS and are commonly found in the waistbands and hems of tube skirts worn by women and shamans.
WEAVER’S NOTES
These napkins are woven from locally sourced cotton grown in the Houaphan Province of Laos. The yarns are hand spun and organically dyed with natural leaves, seeds and barks. This batch was woven by Ms. Khamsone and Ms. Sengamphone of the Taileu Tribe.
CARE
Wash in cold water, gentle cycle, mild detergent. Spot-treat as needed. Do not bleach. Line dry for a softly rumpled look. Iron while damp if desired.
Variations in the weave are part of the handmade vibe. Natural dyes will patina over time.
