MEANING IN THE WEAVE
We chose the complex Diamond pattern to protect your home and bring abundance to your table.
The DIAMOND symbolizes the lantern that lights the way as the Shaman journeys to the afterworld. It’s also used as a focus for meditation and is referred to as the SACRED EYE. Inside the diamond, the weaver has placed a SUN or DORK TAWAAN, a motif also known as a Buddhist Sunflower. Inside the Sun is a Sandalwood flower or DORK CHAN.

WEAVER’S NOTES
This handwoven textile is made of handspun and naturally dyed cotton yarns grown in the Houaphan Province of Laos. Woven for you by Ms. Kongkhan of the Taileu Tribe in the traditional KHIT method on a loom built by her husband. Textiles woven in the KHIT method are reversible. Slight differences in color, pattern and yarn add to the beauty of this artisan made textile.
Natural dyes will patina over time.
