MEANING IN THE WEAVE
NAGA, or Magical Water Serpent, is the most powerful protection symbol and represents female energy. In this textile, it is called NGUU NORN HAANG or Serpents Sleeping Apart. The DIAMOND is used as a focus for meditation and is also called the “sacred eye” which lights the Shaman’s journey to the afterworld. Inside the Diamond, the weaver has placed a DORK TAWAAN, a Sun motif, also known as a Buddhist Sunflower.
WEAVER’S NOTES
The Naga Throw was handwoven for you by Mrs Malayvone of the Taileu Tribe. It’s been woven in the KHIT method, which means that the pattern is reversible. Variations in the weave are part of the handmade vibe. Embrace them.
CARE
Dry clean or wash in cold water, gentle cycle, mild detergent. Pre-treat stains as they arise. Do not bleach. Line dry or dry flat for a softly rumpled look. Iron while damp if desired. Natural dyes will patina over time.
